Bailey lifted her head, brows nearing as she considered the question. Like why am I really here? Because of pills? Or is it because I have a Personality Disorder? Or is it a totally separate matter they ain't telling me? "I have an unstable self-image due to a Personality Disorder... hence me butchering my hair." She pulled gently at a lock and grinned, flashing straight white teeth.

All Teagan could do was nod and ponder over the girl's words. In all honesty, she wasn't very educated on all of the types of mental diseases. She was aware that some made people insane, others made them sad, and then there were a few that left them as flesh craving murders. So when Bailey said she had a Personality Disorder, she could only assume that she fell in a whole new category that she had never even touched.
Well then, this would be a learning experience.
"Not to be rude, and I don't mean to go over my bounds, but what is that, exactly?"

"It's an instability of self-image," Bailey said in verbatim to her doctors, "it's basically this mish-mash of emotions and radical thinking...tendency toward self-harm like drugs or stealing-" Bailey wasn't a poet. Her words were true-to-heart; not from her diagnosis sheet. She said what she felt, and nothing more.
She wasn't a textbook diagnosis.
She tugged at a loose hem on her pants, wrapping it several times around her pinkie.

"Oh," was merely the only response Teagan could ease out, eyes widened slightly as the information sunk in. The self-image part made sense, as she had hacked off her hair for that pure purpose, but the second part had her a tad confused. It wasn't that she didn't understand what she'd said, but the reasoning behind it. Self-harm was a topic the brunette wasn't too keen on touching because a lot of people didn't like what she had to say about it. In her opinion, it was stupid. The body is the temple, how could someone be so idiotic as to destroy that? Most claimed it was a relief to the stress, but how? They were cutting their own flesh, poisoning their own body, and getting themselves in trouble. It wasn't a bully dragging the blade, or shoving the the pills down, or stuffing the stolen item under their shirt- no, it was the 'victim' being dumb enough to hurt themselves and think it right to blame someone else for it. Of course, she did sympathize with the people who were mentally incapable of controlling their actions, the one diagnosed with something other than depression- but those were rare. People most often did this by choice. Teagan just didn't get it, all they were doing was hurting themselves even more, and if they were willing to slice their own flesh, what could they do to another person?
Shaking the thoughts off, she suppressed a scowl with a gentle smile and hatched out a proper response, "Can it be cured, or is it a permanent state of mind?"
Post by Bailey Henneth on Feb 1, 2015 10:40:39 GMT -5
What's goin' on in that pretty little head of hers? Why does she look so deep in thought? Bailey straightened abruptly as Teagan began to speak again, like she'd been caught doing something naughty. "You can't really cure a mental illness. You can manage it, though," She picked apart the last of her sandwich, fingers pinched red from the pressure of the rich sesame bun. She flicked her fingers, disentangling the bits of seed onto her tray, the sound of seeds peppering the table filling the wide void of silence.
She wasn't going to ask about her new friend's diagnosis. She didn't want to push the boundaries.

The year is almost over and that means we're knee deep in 2019 recaps. YouTube on Thursday released its annual Rewind video, this year featuring videos and creators that users liked and watched the most. Among the highlights in Rewind 2019 are music videos from BTS and Lil Nas X, videos of people playing Minecraft and Fortnite and videos from popular creators like MrBeast and PewDiePie.
YouTube acknowledged at the start of the video that Rewind 2018 didn't go over very well. A week after last year's video was released it had racked up 10 million dislikes, making it the most disliked video on YouTube.
"We can't ignore the elephant in the room: Last year's YouTube Rewind, um, wasn't your favorite (to put it lightly...)," YouTube said in a blog post Thursday. "So this year, we tried something different and looked at what you did like -- a lot. Our Rewind 2019 video compiles the top videos and creators that you liked and watched the most around the world, from the biggest games to must-watch beauty palettes and breakout stars."
So far, reaction to the video appears to be lukewarm. As of Friday morning, Rewind 2019 had tallied 1.3 million likes, but 2.6 million dislikes. Some people expressed disappointment on social media that the video was "just a compilation of top 10 countdowns," while others said Rewind should be about more than just like counts.
Pretty disappointed in YouTube rewind tbh.. very out of touch. There's more to creating than numbers! We need to give people credit for their effort/talent, not how much attention they get. very cool people were given recognition in the vid but for the wrong reasons I feel... :/

Along with Rewind, YouTube released lists of the top videos for the year, covering everything from most-liked creator videos to most-viewed video games. The top trending videos in the US were watched collectively 305 million times and for around 50 million hours, YouTube said.

Over the past ten days King Charles III has led the country in mourning and travelled some 1,900 miles as the new monarch - all while grieving his ‘darling mama'.
His demanding schedule has seen him journey from castle to cathedral, and walkabout to reception, in more than 30 engagements across the land since the Queen's death.
And even yesterday as he prepared to bury his mother, the King was working until the last moment on the eve of her funeral.
After holding meetings with Prime Minister Liz Truss and leaders of the realms, His Majesty last night hosted a huge official state reception at Buckingham Palace.
He welcomed world leaders and foreign royals who had arrived to pay their respects to the late Queen.
Accompanied by senior working royals, His Majesty hosted VIPS including US President Joe Biden and Canadian premier Justin Trudeau late into the evening. It was the last of his engagements ahead of the funeral.
King Charles III has had more than 30 engagements since the Queen's death, working until the last moment on the eve of his mother's funeral
Those engagements were laid out long ago in a detailed ten-day plan for the aftermath of the Queen's death.
Codenamed London Bridge, the operation featured dozens of events marking the farewell to the Queen as well as the King's accession to the throne.
Little could have prepared the King for such an emotional and exhausting schedule. The past week has seen His Majesty dash around on a tour through Scotland, Northern Ireland and Wales, accompanied by Camilla, the Queen Consort. In between his duties as the new monarch, he has led the Royal Family in honouring the Queen in a string of ceremonial events watched by the world.
The meticulously-timed strategy was put into action with the words ‘London Bridge is down' when the Queen died on September 8.

Charles rushed some 150 miles from Dumfries House in Cumnock to Balmoral to be by his mother's side in the precious moments before she passed away.
With little time to reflect, the very next day he was in London to meet the Prime Minster before being proclaimed King.
He then flew to Edinburgh to lead his siblings in a poignant funeral procession along the Royal Mile, followed by a service and vigil. Here he began his tour of the nations visiting Scottish Parliament, meeting the First Minister and attending a reception.
The next day, accompanied by the Queen Consort, he embarked on the second leg of the tour, flying to Belfast airport.
He was driven to Hillsborough Castle to meet Northern Ireland's leaders before rushing back to London in time to receive the Queen's coffin, which landed at RAF Northolt at 7pm on Tuesday.
The next day in London's first big ceremonial event, King Charles led the Royal Family in a public display of homage to the late Queen during a majestic procession.
Watched the world over, the new monarch marched behind her coffin followed by his siblings and his sons, delivering his mother to the care of the nation for four days lying-in-state.
On the seventh day, a break from the demanding ceremonial events was set aside in Operation London Bridge to give the monarch a moment of pause.
While the King did retire to Highgrove House in Gloucestershire on Wednesday night, he spent his brief respite from public duties working on relations with world leaders.

He devoted most of Thursday to speaking with more than eight presidents and governor generals and was said to have made calls late into the evening.
The next day he quickly resumed public duties with his crucial first visit to Wales as King on Friday.
Travelling to Cardiff via helicopter from Highgrove he visited Llandaff Cathedral and Welsh Parliament before returning to London.
The Archbishop of Canterbury last week paid tribute to King Charles's ‘extraordinary courage' in the wake of the Queen's death.
The Most Rev Justin Welby said the average person would find fulfilling such duties unfathomable after losing a parent.
He added: ‘The courage of him doing that is extraordinary but also it demonstrates his... service to the people.'
One source close to the King told the Daily Mail: ‘The last few days have blown even us away. His stamina has been astonishing and the fact that he has been able to do it all while grieving his mother is just remarkable.
